HOW DO I COACH OR MANAGE?
VOLUNTEER WITH A TEAM
Usually our coaches and managers are parents in the junior league, and friends or an experienced person in the community for Seniors. When team registrations are announced by the Clubs- that's the perfect time to put your name down and your hand up. While it's preferred coaches have a decent level or skill set to guide their new team, managers are required to be organised and efficient to help in relaying all the required information to your team through the season.
WHERE DO I EXPRESS MY INTEREST?
CLUBS
Get in contact with a Club to express your interest to coach/ manage and they will put your name down on your requested team before nomination forms come to BABA.
WHO MANAGES/ COACHES MY TEAM?
PARENTS OR VOLUNTEERS
All junior teams require a coach, manager and a scorer for each game. These are decided between the team members/ parents. Regular weekly training sessions are advised and Lou Weston courts are available to hire throughout the season for this through BABA. The manager organises the weekly scorer for games.
DO WE GET PAID TO COACH/ MANAGE?
NO
Coaching and managing a basketball team is a community service and a voluntary role. Without valuable people in our community dedicating time to others freely to help expand their skills, our sport would suffer incredibly. Thank you for considering helping those in your community.
DO I WEAR A UNIFORM?
NO
BABA doesn't supply Coaches/ Managers uniforms. Depending on your Club- these may be an available option for you. Please ask your chosen Club.
