HOW DO I REGISTER?
FIND A TEAM OR CONTACT A CLUB
Registration is announced by the Clubs and is generally August every year. Find a team through friends/ school or please contact a Club to be put on their list for players looking for a team to join.
WHERE DO I GET A NOMINATION FORM?
CLUBS
Clubs will announce when their registrations open. After this time, team nomination forms will be available on this website. A team must be registered with a minimum 7 players but we recommend 8. Teams are nominated through clubs, not directly to BABA.
WHO MANAGES/ COACHES MY TEAM?
PARENTS OR VOLUNTEERS
All junior teams require a coach, manager and a scorer for each game. These are decided between the team members/ parents. Regular weekly training sessions are advised and Lou Weston courts are available to hire throughout the season for this through BABA.
FEES & REGISTRATION?
RENEWED EACH SEASON
Fees change each season according to costs however within your fee costs on registration- you'll be paying a BABA, BWA, BA & CLUB fee. To register, you must submit your team nomination by a set date to your chosen club so they can nominate it to BABA. Once this is finalized, clubs will email registration links to each team to disperse to the players for PlayHQ registration and payment.
DO I WEAR A UNIFORM?
YES
Depending on your club, will depend on the uniform requirements. However matching team shirts and shorts by all players must be worn within the first 3 games of the season, shoes are worn at all times and mouthguards are compulsory for anyone under 18.
SKILLS, SMILES & SLAM DUNKS
Busselton Basketball competition is run over 2 indoor venues – Geographe Leisure Centre (GLC) in Busselton and Naturaliste Community Centre (NCC) in Dunsborough.
The allocated playing days will depend on the number of teams submitted for the season and therefore cannot be released until all teams have been collated by BABA. This will be released asap before the start of the season.
Junior age groups are as follows:
Aussie Hoops - aged 6 to 7- Born 1st July 2018 to 30th June 2019 - Year 1
U10 - aged 7 to 9 - Born 1st July 2016 to 30th June 2018 - Year 2 & 3
U12 - aged 9 to 11 - Born 1st July 2014 to 30th June 2016 - Year 4 & 5
U14 - aged 11 to 13 - Born 1st July 2012 to 30th June 2014 - Year 6 & 7
U16 - aged 13 to 15 - Born 1st July 2010 to 30th June 2012 - Year 8 & 9
U19 - aged 15 to 18 - Born 1st July 2007 to 30th June 2010 - Year 10, 11 & 12
