TEAM FORMATIONS

For the 2026–2027 Junior Competition season, the previous Player Point System has been replaced with a simpler representative player cap and grading structure.

A Grade: The highest level of competition. Teams may include a maximum of 5 previous season & current Blazers, WABL or State-level players. All current WABL and State-level players must play in A Grade.

B1 Grade: The strongest B Grade division. Teams may include a maximum of 2 previous season & current Blazers players. Intended for experienced and developing players who are approaching A Grade level but are not yet suited to the full strength of A Grade.

B Grades: Intended for players with sound basketball experience and developing skills. Teams should be competitive and reasonably balanced, without being formed as representative-strength teams.

C Grades: Intended for newer, less experienced or developing players who require a more social and introductory level of competition.

  • All Blazers players- irrespective of Championship or Development team placement are expected to play in the highest appropriate grade for their ability and development- A or B1.
  • Teams will be graded according to player experience, team strength and competitive balance.
  • Grade requests may be submitted; however, final placement remains at the discretion of Busselton Basketball Association.

These changes are designed to provide clearer differences between grades, prevent team stacking, encourage player development and create fair, competitive opportunities for players at every skill level.
